Microfluidizer (Mixer)
(The Emerging Technology of
Efficient Mixing)
Introduction
Micro-Fluidizer is a
homogenizer or/and a particle reduction system which is used for the reduction
of particle in a low range somewhere in nano-meter. It is used for the reduction
of particle/ globules size of fluids.
Four Parts Provide basic mechanical and functional
efficiencies to this System. These Four parts are Shown in the figure Below.
Have a Look before we can go for further discussion. Main three Parts are:
Inlet Reservoir:
Inlet Reservoir is that Part of
the Micro-Fluidizer in which the raw material feed take place. Or simply we can
say that where input (something which is going to be mixed) is inserted to the
system.
High Pressure Pump:
High Pressure Pump is
required to give high velocity to the fluids. Fluid are Pushed through the
interaction chamber System which is the next part of the system.
Interaction Chamber (The Heart of the System)
It is the place where
particle reduction occur. The chamber is shown in the figure below. It is made
up of tough and hard materials like diamond and ceramic. Operation of
interaction chambers occur in a Micro-channels or tiny passages.
Fluid having a speed of
400m/s is targeted in these micro-channels from opposite sides thus due to
collision of particle their size reduces. Two stream of the fluid having high
speed interact and particle size reduction occur.
Outlet Reservoir
Final Part where the mixed
material coming form the system is collected and Used further according to your
needs.
Mechanism of Particle Size Reduction
Impact is the main phenomenon involved in the micro-fluidizer.
Particle collide with each other form opposite direction and thus due to
collision impact is generated which cause particle size reduction.
